“No, I’ve been doing photography for forty years and really
haven’t shown my work to anyone. I thought it was time I started
to do that. You’re a Photography Department, so I thought I’d
come here.” He reached into the bag and pulled out a stack of
loose prints perhaps eight inches high. Uh-oh, I thought, this is
going to mess up my afternoon. “Listen,” I said, “I have a meeting
in just a few minutes, but I’ll be happy to take a fast look at these
before I have to go.”
